FLB Partners has acted as financial advisor to Marinkraft in the sale of the Marinkraft Education business area to Sjöskolan. The deal represents a strategic restructuring for Marinkraft while at the same time Sjöskolan strengthens its position as a leading player in marine education in Sweden.

About Marinkraft Education

Marinkraft Education operates and is responsible for polytechnic education in the marine sector. The company provides comprehensive training services to educational providers and schools, and has built a strong position as a specialist with deep expertise in the field. Through close cooperation with the industry, Marinkraft Utbildning has contributed to ensuring a high level of skills supply to the Swedish maritime industry and other activities within the maritime professions.

About the Buyer

Sjöskolan is a well-established player in marine education, with operations in both Stockholm and Gothenburg. With extensive experience in training both maritime professionals and private individuals with an interest in boating and marine occupations, Sjöskolan has developed a wide range of courses in areas such as navigation, safety and ship command. Through the acquisition of Marinkraft Utbildning, Sjöskolan strengthens its role as a comprehensive provider of education and broadens its offer with additional university of applied sciences education.

The transaction

FLB Partners had overall responsibility for the sale process, from the initial preparation to the negotiation and completion of the transaction. Our work included financial analysis and production of market materials as well as project management and support in the dialogue between the parties. Through the deal, Sjöskolan expanded its educational offering with new YH courses in the marine sector, creating synergies between the two activities and strengthening the supply of skills in the industry.
